It was all smiles and confidence following a fun, successful 2018 media for the Bulldogs, as Mississippi State let college football know that they are fit to win the SEC. Coach Joe Moorhead, quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, defensive end Gerri Green, and safety Mark McLaurin made it clear that this season is going to be different. Whether it be Moorhead’s confidence, Fitzgerald’s optimism, or Green / McLaurin’s assurance about the defense, fans should be ready for an exciting season.
As it pertains to Fitzgerald’s injury, the superstar quarterback showed no signs of angst. It was clear that he has put in the work and is eager to get back on the field. Fitzgerald is due for a career year and knows it. Based on experience and a high level of expertise as it pertains to being a dual threat, he will lead a lethal offensive attack under the wing of one of the game’s best in Moorhead.

Speaking of Moorhead, the coach could not have handled media day any better. Confident and all smiles, you could tell how happy he is to be a part of Mississippi State. Take note of the fact that he is a player’s coach, as Fitzgerald, Green, and McLaurin are more than excited to play for Moorhead.
Green made it clear from the get go that the Bulldogs’ defensive line stacked. Whether it be himself or others, it is no mistake that Mississippi State has, is, and will be a staple for defensive talent. Like Moorhead, Green is no nonsense, as his leadership will be infectious amongst his teammates.
Last but not least, McLaurin, the anchor of the Bulldogs’ secondary is well aware of Mississippi State’s potential. Due for a big year as well, he will have to show up in big moments in order for the Bulldogs to succeed. Look for McLaurin to ascend and become one of the primary faces of SEC secondaries.
In short, media day was a strong success. Mississippi State will be one of the most talked about teams in and out of the SEC. The potential is there, but the Bulldogs have their work cut out for them. Having said that, Mississippi State is not afraid of anybody and has a great shot at winning the SEC and beyond.
