Cooks broke out against Troy with a career-high 26 points. A compliment to fellow forward Jessika Carter, Cooks is emerging into a reliable paint presence whose outside game is just as potent.
At 6-foot-4, she boasts the perfect combination of height and scoring ability. Coach Nikki McCray-Penson is an offensive savant and has the Bulldogs on fire. Cooks can score from anywhere on the floor. Her distance shooting came as a surprise against Troy, as she has unlimited range.
If Carter can return to form, the Bulldogs will have a dominant duo down low. Look for Cooks to have a big night and post at least 20 points. She continues to embrace her role as a starter and will take chances. That being said, Cooks committed no turnovers and just two personal fouls in 24 minutes on Monday.
It is clear that the Bulldogs are more than formidable offensively. But they must improve on defense and Cooks will have to play an integral role in that. Expect her to add multiple blocks and and steals to her stat line.
