Pops/Son Pick ‘Em Challenge: SEC Week 13

Managing Editor, Landon Young, collaborates with his father, Gerald Young, on this week’s SEC pick ‘em challenge.

On Saturday’s newest segment (maybe it’s not so new anymore), managing editor, Landon Young, does this week’s Southeastern Conference pick ‘em challenge with his father, Gerald Young.

My father is the reason I am so crazy about Mississippi State sports. He brought me home from the hospital when I was born in a No. 1 Mississippi State jersey. Growing up, we woke up early every Saturday and watched ESPN College GameDay together while drinking some fresh coffee. This week’s cover picture was taken in Atlanta, Georgia, at the College Football Hall of Fame. Every week, I call him before Saturday and we discuss who will win this Saturday inside the SEC. We will discuss betting lines, close games, and winners each week.

Let’s PICK ‘EM:

Texas A&M (-14) at Tennessee

Pops: Tennessee’s backs are against the wall with a possible coaching change... I think they’ll show up against an overrated Texas A&M team.

Son: I disagree. I see A&M running off with this one late in the second half. A&M covers.

Ole Miss (-2.5) at LSU

Pops: I think Ole Miss covers. LSU is going to let everyone down after a big win last weekend vs. Florida.

Son: LSU stays rolling after last weekend! I’m taking the Tigers to cover.

Missouri (-1) at Mississippi State

Pops: I think we cover. I think we win the last game of the season and head into 2021 with some momentum.

Son: I haven’t picked against Mississippi State once this year (well, maybe I did when we played Bama), BUT THAT’S NOT GOING TO CHANGE TODAY. Give me the Dawgs winning big and heading into 2021 ready to roll.

SEC Championship Game Alabama (-17) vs. Florida

Pops: Bama dominates and covers.

Son: I think UF hangs in there until late in the game, but I still think Bama covers.
