Broadcast Information

The game is at 5:30 p.m. CT and can be watched on the SEC Network.

Player to Watch

Jessika Carter

Carter is coming off her best outing, a double-double that included 29 points and 15 rebounds against Central Arkansas. She seems to have found herself and is more comfortable in the paint. As the Bulldogs open conference play in Athens, Georgia, Carter will have to be a focal point on both ends of the floor.

At 6-foot-5, Carter will be matched up against Jenna Staiti who stands at 6-foot-4. Both have a versatile game and can crash the boards. Both are also similar statistically. Carter is averaging 17.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while Staiti is averaging 15 and 7.9.

For the Bulldogs to earn their first conference play victory, Carter will have to win the battle inside. Expect coach Nikki McCray-Penson to have her squad come out with offensive firepower with Carter imposing her will.

While foul trouble was an issue for Carter in 2019, she has managed to stay in games longer in 2020. Look for her to draw fouls rather than commit them. The matchup between she and Staiti will be the deciding factor, as Carter should have her way when all is said and done.

Prediction

Mississippi State beats Georgia 106-83
