Much has happened since the early signing day back in December for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Joe Moorhead and his staff had the recruiting class ranked in the top 30 going into the Music City Bowl. Mike Leach has since picked up the recruiting efforts with a focus on finishing the 2020 class and getting a jump start on the 2021 recruiting class.

Coach Mike Leach hauled junior college transfer Kyle Cass from Mississippi Delta Community College on Monday. Leach has been very active hitting the transfer portal this offseason as well, qdding Jay Banks Jr., KJ Costello and Scott Lashley over the offseason. Banks Jr helps give the receiving corps some depth and gives Leach another weapon on the offensive side of the ball. Lashley gives the offensive line a four-star transfer offensive tackle that should compete for playing time the minute he steps on campus. KJ Costello is a transfer quarterback from Stanford that will have a chance to win the job this offseason.

With the additions that Leach has made in the 2020 recruiting class, it has brought the ranking up to 27th nationally. Look for a little bit more noise to be made tomorrow as we wind down the 2020 recruiting class and begin to gear up for the 2021 with several commitments already being announced in the 2021 class. Keep track of all the recruiting news tomorrow and the rest of the year right here at forwhomthecowbeeltolls.com. We will keep track of the commitments that the Bulldogs have brought in so far and welcome the new additions as they come in tomorrow.
