Willie Gay Jr. Selected by Chiefs

Gay is headed to the defending Super Bowl champions.

Mississippi State linebacker Willie Gay Jr. has been selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 63rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Gay forwent his senior season after playing in just five games as a junior because of a violation of team rules that resulted in an eight-game suspension. He recorded 28 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. The Starkville, Mississippi native also forced a fumble, recovered two fumbles and returned an interception 52 yards for a touchdown.

In 31 career games, Gay accumulated 99 tackles, including 46 solo tackles. He also recorded six sacks, 11 tackles for loss, three interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
