We are within a week, as the 2020 season will commence on the road in Baton Rouge against the national champion LSU Tigers. With five days to go, No. 5, wideout Osirus Mitchell, is today’s focus.
Mitchell is the modern deep threat, a sky walker with athleticism. Standing at 6-foot-5, 210 pounds, Mitchell is an immediate mismatch. Capable of owning the sidelines, he has been a threat to the opposition throughout his Bulldog tenure.
In three years, Mitchell has posted 908 yards and 10 touchdowns of 60 receptions. Now a senior, expect him to have his best season, likely to be heavily utilized in coach Mike Leach’s Air Raid offense.
Coupled with his athleticism is Mitchell’s deceptive speed. While Mitchell’s length and ability to create mismatches cannot go unnoticed, neither can his quickness along the sidelines. Made for the Air Raid, look for Mitchell and quarterback K.J. Costello to be one of the SEC’s most lethal offensive duos.
Hail State!
