Player to Watch

Aliyah Matharu

Matharu continues to impress as a reliable weapon for coach Nikki McCray-Penson. She is averaging 9.8 points per game. Though streaky at times, Matharu can get on a scoring roll from anywhere on the floor. Look for McCray-Penson to call her number more often than not.

For the Bulldogs to pull off the upset, Matharu will have to post at least 15 points. Expect her to have a season-high in attempted shots. The Bulldogs must get out to a running start and dictate pace. Matharu and fellow guard Myah Taylor’s play will ultimately determine the games outcome.

Prediction

Mississippi State falls to South Carolina 87-81
