In their rematch with the Tigers, the Bulldogs simply did not have an answer from opening tip.

In addition to foul trouble and frustration, Mississippi State could not get on a hot streak offensively. Defensively, the Bulldogs were unable to hold LSU guard Khayla Pointer in check. Pointer posted 14 points.

But the story of the game was LSU’s bench on both ends of the floor, as Ryann Payne and Sarah Shematsi combined for 30 points. As the Bulldogs were battling foul trouble early, the Tigers had their way and took advantage.

JaMya Mingo-Young fouled out with five personals. Aliyah Matharu and Jessika Carter also found themselves in foul trouble early. That said, Carter and Rickea Jackson combined for 28 points. Myah Taylor added 12.

If able to make it into the NCAA Tournament, look for coach Nikki McCray-Penson to address the team and make the proper adjustments going forward.

Hail State!
