An instinctive hard hitting safety, Marcus Murphy is a true game changer in a defensive backfield.
Following his decision to opt out of the 2020 season, Murphy shifted his attention to the next level. At 6-foot-1, Murphy can read the eyes of the quarterback and be an immediate disruption in both the passing game and running game. He commands centerfield and excels most at covering ground.
In 23 games as a Bulldog, Murphy posted 67 total tackles along with a pair of interceptions. He also broke up five passes. Murphy is a student of the game with a nose for the ball.
As this year’s draft class is rich at safety, Murphy may get lost in the fold. That said, look for him to be a factor in the pros sooner rather than later.
Hail State!
