Three former Bulldogs will be playing defense for the Atlanta Falcons, as they are sure to be heavily relied upon throughout the season.
There is no denying that the defensive side of the ball was the Falcons’ achilles heel last year. That said, Kobe Jones, Erroll Thompson and Marcus Murphy have an opportunity to make their name at the pro level.
While Murphy will add toughness to Atlanta’s secondary, Thompson and Jones will add leadership to the team’s linebacking corps. All three are quick learners and should start sooner rather than later.
Look for defensive coordinator Dean Pees to utilize Jones, Thompson and Murphy in a plethora of schemes. As the NFC South is a division with prolific offensive talent, defenses must step up. Expect these former Bulldogs to be an integral component to an improved Falcons’ defense.
