As defense is making a comeback in today’s NFL, Preston Smith has become one of the league’s most highly regarded outside linebackers.

At 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, Smith posted 38 total tackles and four sacks in 2020. With a return to normalcy, look for those numbers to skyrocket this year. Alongside fellow star Za’Darius Smith, the Packers have one of the league’s most dynamic duos at linebacker.

Smith is deceptively quick and can get to the quarterback. In addition to his four sacks, Smith posted 11 quarterback hits last season. Expect him to be a factor early and headache for opposing offenses.

While Smith’s play is more than formidable, it is his leadership that separates him from the norm. Every defense needs a primary face and leader. Smith’s energy is contagious as he continuously elevates the play of his teammates. That said, there is every reason to believe 2021 will be one of Smith’s best seasons. Big things to come in Green Bay.

Hail State!
