Man, I'm still overwhelmed by this team and all that they have accomplished for the MSU family. I'm 53, and these overwhelming feelings come about few and way too far between for us Dawgs, but when it does, it takes me back to the following memories: (I know there are many that are left out, but these are monumental in my mind)
1980 - 6-3 over #1 Alabama
1996 - Bulldog Basketball in the Final 4
2013 - Bulldog Baseball making the CWS finals
2014 - Bulldog Football ranked #1 nationally
2017 - Bulldog Women's basketball shocks UCONN
2021 - Bulldog Baseball NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
I'm so glad Ron Polk got to be in attendance and that Jim Ellis finally got to make that call after the last out was recorded. There are many others that I wish could have been around to share in this joy. Jack Cristil is the first that comes to mind. My mother, that knew very little about baseball, absolutely adored Ron Polk and Mississippi State Baseball. Another dear friend who passed away way too early was absolutely fanatical about all MSU sports teams, so I miss my dear friend Anne during times like these as well. But this only motivates me to enjoy and appreciate the moment more because I have the great pleasure of being around to witness these happenings.
MSU fam, we just won us a national championship! Nothing was owed to us, we just went out and earned it. I can't say enough about how these resilient kids went out and worked and constantly overcame and brought it home to Dudy Noble.
My heart is full. That's all I have to say.
