What can we expect from former Bulldog defensive tackle Chris Jones?

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Miami Dolphins Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

As he has been deemed one of the NFL’s best at defensive tackle, Chris Jones has become a household name in Kansas City.

Jones is the unquestionable anchor of the Chiefs’ defense, as his high motor and infectious energy make him the perfect leader. At 6-foot-6, Jones boasts a legitimate height advantage. He has a nose for the ball and can shed off blocks.

But perhaps Jones’ most underrated strength is his speed. For a defensive tackle, Jones is unbelievably quick. That said, speed is a borderline requirement in today’s game. A formidable defense is a must, and Jones is the weapon that can take the Chiefs’ unit a level higher.

Jones posted 23 total tackles and 7 12 sacks in 2020. He added two forced fumbles. With fans back in attendance, look for Jones to feed off their energy. Expect him to exceed the numbers above and have what could be his best season as a Kansas City Chief.

Hail State!
