Why former Bulldog Darius Slay will revamp the Philadelphia Eagles’ secondary

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

A reliable lockdown corner is vital in today’s NFL, as the Eagles have found a gem in former Bulldog star Darius “Big Play” Slay.

In addition to his ability to lock down an entire side of the field, Slay is a pure athlete and ballhawk. A nine-year veteran, Slay knows his way around the game. The Eagles’ secondary has been in dire need of a leader. Slay not only checks that box on the field but off it as well.

Amongst a defensive backfield composed of rising young talent, Slay is the ideal veteran. Off the field, Slay is a vocal locker room presence and can galvanize the troops when needed.

As NFL offenses pride themselves on passing, Slay’s speed and motor make him an immediate threat to opposing wideouts and tight ends. Though he may not be the most physical corner, Slay’s intellect is unmatched. Look for him to jump off the screen and become a fan favorite in Philadelphia.

Hail State!
