Welp, we passed another test. Last Saturday was one of the funnest night's of recent memory for Bulldog fans, and now we turn our attention away from Derek Dooley, Tyler Bray and company to the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State. MTSU comes in confident, as they beat Georgia Tech resoundingly in Atlanta, but also cautious, as earlier this week they lost their star running back for the season with a knee injury.

This is the place in the season where one might be tempted to allude to this game using a word from Admiral Ackbar's famous phrase, but I won't do so here. I expect Danny Dan to have the team focused, have them ready for the task at hand this week, and keep them from looking ahead to the task next week, although it is quite tempting.

It's football, it's homecoming, it's our favorite place to be in the world. Saturday night, under the lights of Davis Wade Stadium, it's Middle Tennessee State and Mississippi State, doing battle, as the Bulldogs look to move to 7-0, and the Blue Raiders look to play upset special yet again. Here's to hoping we see the former tonight, and not the latter.

Hail State!
