MSU 30 for 30: Top Plays in Mississippi State Football, No. 18: Anthony Johnson 100 Yard INT vs. Alabama

In 2007, the Mississippi State Bulldogs continued to find ways to pull rabbits out of the hat to win football games. The team eventually did enough to make it to the Liberty Bowl and be victorious. Had Anthony Johnson not scored on this pick-six, who knows how Mississippi State ends the season.

In 2007, the Mississippi State Bulldogs may have gone on their most unlikely run to a bowl game. Multiple times in that season, the team found themselves on the brink before being rescued by a defensive or special teams touchdown. That may have been most evident when Nick Saban brought his Alabama Crimson Tide squad to town.

Alabama led 9-3 with under 30 seconds left in the first half when the Tide attempted a bootleg pass to the tight end in the end zone from the three-yard line. Titus Brown got pressure on John Parker Wilson who tossed a pass up for grabs. Anthony Johnson stepped in front of the pass, picked it, and took it 100 yards to pay dirt to give Mississippi State a 10-9 lead.

The Bulldogs went on to win the game 17-12.
