Mississippi State 2013 Impact Players, No. 16: P.J. Jones

I'm filling in for Justin here, talking about P.J.

Spruce Derden-US PRESSWIRE

P.J. Jones is slated to be one of the key cogs in the middle of the D-line this year. At 6'-3" 295 he is a force, and looking to take his game to the next level in 2013.

After a promising true freshman year in 2011 that saw him make a couple of starts, P.J. was slated to take over for Fletcher Cox at an early age. Unfortunately he ran into trouble which had him suspended for the first four games of the year and really sidetracked his season in 2012. Jones ended up only starting two games and was passed over for Dwayne Cherrington more often than not.

This year the Tupelo standout is looking to make a name for himself. He's got all the tools needed to take the next step, and all indications are he is ready. He is one of several DTs with the talent, but can he translate that into on the field production? P.J. is expected to man the first team again this year - here's to hoping for a renewed energy and success for Jones in 2013.
