I've seen all the "experts" pick the game. Maybe two of 75 have picked the Bulldogs. That's okay, MSU is the underdog and that's plenty fine.
Oklahoma State has been picked by many to win the Big XII. Others have them in the top 2 or 3. I haven't seen anyone without MSU ties saying State will finish higher than 5th in the West.
In this game today, you've got a top 3 Big XII team vs. the 10th, 11th, or 12th best SEC team (according to the "experts").
Mississippi State has nothing to lose here.
Sure, we are carrying the flag for the SEC, but when everyone expects you to lose the game it doesn't really matter. There is more pressure on the Cowboys.
MSU will leave Houston knowing a lot about their team. And while this is a very important game for the future of our season, it doesn't bare the weight it does for OSU.
There is no reason not to play loose, but with a chip on our shoulder. This is an opportunity to prove that Mississippi State is ready to take the next step as a program. This is our chance to show the nation who MISSISSIPPI STATE is.
As big as this game is, it hasn't made the list of "big games" too often in the last few days. The Dawgs will need to hang tough and fight until the end to show the nation why they need to be watching the Texas Kickoff.
Let's get 'em boys. HAIL STATE!
