Mississippi State has opened as a 28.5 point favorite over UAB for the two teams' Saturday night matchup set for 1 p.m., according to the sports betting website BetOnline.com.
After last week when I contemplated week one's line being too high followed by MSU besting that line by 18.5 points last night, I think I'll refrain from calling this week's too high. It could potentially be higher in my opinion when you consider that the team MSU beat Saturday night 49-0 got its only win since 2011 against UAB to end last season. The Blazers did get their 2014 season off to a better start than USM did, though as they soundly defeated Troy 48-10 Saturday.
The Bulldogs and Blazers will kick off week two of the 2014 season for MSU on Saturday (1:00 CT) on Fox Sports Net.
Here are a few other lines of note for week two of the 2014 college football season:
Mississippi -14 at Vanderbilt
East Carolina at -15 South Carolina
Brigham Young at -4 Texas
Virginia Tech at -12 Ohio State
USC at -4 Stanford
Michigan State at at -11.5 Oregon
