The Mississippi State started off hot to open up the season, but over the last ten games, the Bulldogs have cooled quickly. Things will not get any easier for Mississippi State as the host No. 13 South Carolina this weekend at Dudy Noble Field in Starkville.
While the Gamecocks hold a top-15 ranking, they have also struggled a bit in their last ten games, playing under .500 in those contests.
Mississippi State is making a bit of a change in the pitching rotation this weekend, going with Lucas Laster, who has four quality starts in a row, in the series opener instead of Preston Brown, who has opened all three SEC series so far. Cohen has yet to announce his Friday and Saturday starters.
A series win by the Bulldogs would go a long way in correcting the issues of the past three or four weeks, and series sweep would move the Bulldogs to .500 in SEC play.
