Northwestern State's QB Played at Same High School as Dak Prescott
Northwestern State will start its third QB in as many games against Mississippi State Saturday. Taking the first snap for the Demons will be J.D. Almond, a name Dak Prescott is all too familiar with. Almond, a sophomore, played high school ball at Haughton -- the same school MSU's star QB attended. Almond and Prescott are apparently pretty close and keep in touch with each other on a regular basis. The two will get to go head to head after Almond's performance last week against UL Lafayette has earned him a start against the Bulldogs. He completed 5-of-10 passes for 66 yards and a TD in three series as part of the Demon's 44-17 defeat. Northwestern State coach Jay Thomas has struggled to find a consistent starting QB and said there's a possibility that all four guys could see time against MSU.
