Lost in the chaos of National Signing Day, it looks like Dan Mullen has completed his coaching staff with the hiring/upcoming hire of Maurice Linguist. According to Michael Bonner, Linguist will coach safeties at MSU. Linguist has previously coached at Iowa State, Buffalo, Valdosta State and James Madison. Mullen didn't land a former NFL player this time like he did with Buckley and Sirmon, but Linguist did play college ball at Baylor. It's not a flashy hire, but it's nice to see guys like that get the opportunity to move up in the coaching ranks. You never know who could be a diamond in the rough.
