Either Southeast Missouri State or Louisiana Tech will see their baseball season come to an end this afternoon as they square off in an elimination game in the Starkville regional at 1:30pm.
Southeast Missouri State jumped out to an early lead against Mississippi State, and it looked like the Redhawks might send the hosting Bulldogs to the elimination game, but Mississippi State rallied in the late innings to pick up a victory.
The Redhawks opponents, the Bulldogs, had to complete their opening game this morning as rain interrupted play Friday night. The teams were locked in a scoreless tie with one out in the bottom of the seventh. Nate Harris was on the hill for Louisiana Tech with Cal State Fullerton batting.
When the game resumed, Cal State pushed across a run in the eighth to snag a1-0 lead, which would be the final margin in their win over Louisiana Tech.
