TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — No. 6 Mississippi State baseball (37-13, 17-10 SEC) wraps up the 2021 regular season with a trip to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide (29-19, 12-14 SEC) in a three-game series at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The series begins with 6 p.m. CT first pitch times on Thursday and Friday before wrapping up Saturday at 1 p.m. All three games will be streaming on SEC Network+.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-1 five-inning win over Jacksonville State on Tuesday, finishing the season 11-0 in midweek games. MSU will be looking to lock up a top-four seed for next week’s Southeastern Conference Tournament.
The MSU offense is led by senior Tanner Allen, who is batting .389 with 74 hits, 48 RBIs and 53 runs. Senior Rowdey Jordan has recorded 59 hits, 54 runs and 35 RBIs on a .316 batting average.
The Crimson Tide went 1-2 at LSU last weekend and has played eight consecutive SEC games entering the series, going 4-4 overall in those games.
Sophomore Zane Denton leads Alabama with a .328 batting average, 62 hits, 36 RBIs and 35 runs. Redshirt junior Sam Praytor leads the team with 44 RBIs and 13 home runs on a .302 batting average,
Thursday’s game will be the 418th for the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide on the diamond. Alabama leads the all-time series 214-199-4.
