Good morning! And happy bowlsgiving. After a wild final day of college football yesterday, we find out today where every team bound for the postseason will be spending its holiday season this year. While FSU and Auburn are locked in for the National Championship, the rest of the bowl picture seems to be mostly up in the air. State seems definitely bound for the Liberty Bowl, but just for the sake of argument, let's take one final look at where the national pundits are projecting MSU to go bowling.
Publication | Projected Bowl | Opponent |
CBS | Liberty | Rice |
ESPN | BBVA Compass Liberty |
Houston Rice |
Fox/Scout | Liberty | Rice |
SBNation | Liberty | Rice |
SI | Liberty | Rice |
USA Today | BBVA Compass | Houston |
Well there you have it. For the most part, the national guys agree with what we've been hearing all week: State is bound for the Liberty Bowl. After the secret all but leaked out earlier in the week, Scott Stricklin did his best to act like the decision wasn't made yet, but it was probably to save face, since the bowls "don't like it" when people find out early who's in their game.
There's a strong chance that we'll get official word about State's game before the selection show at 8 CT tonight, so we'll keep an eye out for you guys, and let you know just as soon as we know something official.
