Sometimes recruiting doesn't go your way, and this weekend was one of those times for Mississippi State football. After 5-star commit Chris Jones took a surprising visit to Ole Miss this weekend, we found out tonight that South Panola offensive lineman and MSU commit Deon Mix has decommitted.
South Panola (Miss.) off lineman Deon Mix tells Bulldawgs247 in a text that he is "decommitting" from MSU

The decommitment comes completely out of left field, as Mix just had his official visit to Starkville two weekends ago, and had a ton of good things to say ($) to reporters afterwards. Mix has also been committed to State since last summer, making this decommit just 10 days before NSD even more perplexing.
We don't know the situation surrounding the decision, so we will refrain from further judgement or speculation regarding the young man's decision. There are no reports out tonight of Mix naming another school his new favorite, so it is unclear at this time what his future holds. Either way, Mix is no longer a part of the Bulldogs 2013 class, and therefore will not likely be a part of MSU's offensive line haul on February 6th.
