4-star DT Toby Johnson enjoys MSU visit, will announce decision Tuesday at 2 p.m.

After capping off an enjoyable weekend visit to Mississippi State this past weekend, it looks like we are close to knowing the final decision of Hutchinson C.C. defensive tackle Toby Johnson.

Johnson, a former Mississippian, finally took his long-awaited visit to Starkville over the weekend, and seemingly came away impressed. Johnson talked with Bulldawgs 247 ($), and talked of how he came away impressed with the bond between MSU players, the coaching staff, and just the overall experience on the weekend. Despite having "the mom factor" going this weekend -- Johnson's mom lives in the delta, and he got to see her for the first time in awhile over the weekend -- he still has not tipped his hat as to who may gain his services come Tuesday. He did tell Paul that he would announce his decision around 2 p.m., and that he'd probably put it on Twitter so that everyone will know when he decides.

Although some State parties feel good about gaining Johnson's signature come Tuesday, it's unclear who he may choose. Auburn was another strong suitor for Toby, as was Georgia. The advantage that MSU may have at this point, as noted by Paul Jones earlier in the weekend, is Johnson's decision coming after National Signing Day, and how some classes have filled since then. Auburn signed a deep and talented class on the defensive front, and it will be interesting to see if or how that plays into Toby's decision. We should know soon.

Johnson would be a huge late addition to the 2013 class for MSU. Despite depth at his position, Johnson could contribute immediately, should his rehabilitation allow such. At one time, he was the #1 ranked junior college player, according to 247 sports.
