State added its 18th* commitment and 3rd commitment from an offensive lineman today as Jackson Academy OL standout Jamaal Clayborn pledged his commitment to MSU.
Clayborn (*** 24/7, NR Rivals, *** Scout) chose MSU over an offer from Southern Miss, along with interest from Ole Miss, Arkansas, Alabama, and others.
Jamaal, a 6'3", 315 lb rising senior, gives the Bulldogs a 3rd offensive lineman commitment for the class of 2013, a position State is looking to add depth at. Clayborn joins Deon Mix and Kent Flowers as OL on State's committed list.
Clayborn, whose commitment was broadcast publicly by SportsTalk 930 out of Jackson, talked about how he was impressed with Bulldog OL Coach John Hevesy, and Hevesy's ability to get guys to the NFL.
Now the attention up front for State turns to guys like Jake Thomas, who is also high on the Bulldogs and could become the 4th OL commit sometime soon for the maroon and white.

ETA: This post was edited to add that State now has 18 commitments for the Class of 2013, not 16. Previous signees Kivon Coman and Artimus Samuel, who have both enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy, will join State in 2013, thus counting towards the Bulldogs' 2013 commitments. (kudos to Croom Diaries for the heads up on that)
