In a much anticipated decision, ESPN has decided that the Starkville and Mississippi State will host College GameDay next week when the Auburn Tigers visit the Bulldogs.

For college football fans in the Magnolia State, the wait to have ESPN's College GameDay originate from Mississippi ended last week when the show traveled to Ole Miss, and the show will just move a little bit to the southeast as it was announced that Mississippi State will play host to Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and others ahead of the Bulldogs' matchup with the Auburn Tigers.

For Mississippi State fans, the anxious waiting began after the Bulldogs knocked off LSU to set up what many felt would be a top-15 matchup on October 4 with Texas A&M.  With another such matchup looming with Ole Miss and Alabama, Oxford was eventually chosen to host the show.  However, an interesting nugget was dropped when Fowler (jokingly?) warned Ole Miss that if they lost to Memphis, GameDay would go to Starkville.

While many Mississippi State fans were disappointed not to host GameDay, SECNation ended up coming to Starkville, and the fans responded enthusiastically Saturday.

Now, Mississippi State fans will be pressed to improve upon that effort when the biggest show of them all sets up in The Junction this weekend.
