Courtney Miggins signs with Kentucky over Mississippi State, NC State

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Pearl River defensive prospect chose the Wildcats over MSU and NC State this morning.

Going into the final week of the 2015 recruiting cycle, Mississippi State fans mostly had their sights set on two uncommitted prospects: Pearl River DT Courtney Miggins and Brookhaven LB Leo Lewis.  While we won't know Lewis' decision until later this morning, we know now where Courtney is headed, and it isn't Starkville.

Courtney Miggins has signed with the Kentucky Wildcats this morning.  The signing was made official by an announcement by the Wildcat football team.

Mississippi State fans felt good about landing the 6'5", 285 lb player originally from Georgia, but it was ultimately the Wildcats who made the offer than Miggins liked.  He becomes the second JUCO defensive line prospect the Bulldogs have lost out to Mark Stoops on after East Mississippi's Za'Darius Smith chose UK over MSU in 2013.

MSU fans will now collectively turn their attention to signing all previously committed recruits as well as Leo Lewis' big announcement at 10:30.
