Open Thread: Mississippi State vs. San Diego

The Bulldogs and Toreros are set to face off in the first ever meeting between the two programs Friday.

Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

The Mississippi State Bulldogs and the San Diego Toreros will meet for the first time on a baseball diamond Friday in Starkville.  The Bulldogs enter the three-game series at 13-1 after a midweek loss to Arkansas Pine-Bluff, but they look to rebound against a Torero team that enters the series under .500 but with a doubleheader victory over Texas last weekend.

Game one will feature a matchup between Mississippi State's Preston Brown (3-0, 2.12 ERA) and San Diego's David Hill (1-2, 4.15 ERA).

The contest can been seen on SEC Network+ using watchespn.com and the Watch ESPN app for those with selected service. Fan can also listen to the game on WMXU 106.1 (which may have an app) and through hailstate.com/plus.  The forecast looks to be a bit chilly with Friday only showing a high of 43 for the 4pm first pitch.
