Southern Miss athletic director Bill McGillis joined Tommy D and Chuck Edwards on Happy Hour on Sports Radio 1640 The Champ Friday.

Unsurprisingly, the Mississippi State-Southern Miss season opener came up. Perhaps what was surprising was how the kickoff time came to be.

Some people hate the 9pm kickoff, but some love it. If you've hated it and wondered how this game ended up with a 9pm kickoff, listen in; it could have been even worse.

"I just did not feel this was a game that needed to be played on Friday night," said McGillis to Tommy D and Edwards during the broadcast.
