NCAA Needs To...

clarify and tighten recruiting rules. Just read that Jim Harbaugh spent the night (slept in the kids sister's room) with a recruit who was verbally committed to Penn State. Suprise, suprise...the kid switched his school choice and Penn State found out when his LOI went to Michigan. This is just outrageous and outside of the spirit of the recruiting rules. Sending exorbitant amount of recruiting mail is another trick that a number of SEC and non SEC teams do that is outside the spirit of the rules. The real issue is that it puts programs with smaller Athletic Department budgets at a severe disadvantage as they can't pull the same stunts that programs like Bama, LSU, Michigan, USC, Ohio State, and many others are able to afford. The real shame is that it has made the whole process a circus and watered down the whole purpose of a verbal commitment. When there is this much rule bending, it's time to clarify and tighten the rules so that stunts like these are eliminated.
