Egg Bowl rivalry extends to this year's Liberty Bowl ticket

State fans are, for the most part, happy to be back bowling in Memphis. But some may not be super excited about who is on their ticker for this year's game.

To the surprise of very few yesterday, it was announced that Mississippi State would be heading back to the Liberty Bowl this year for the first time since 2007.  State fans have wasted no time gobbling up tickets and hotel rooms in anticipation for what should be a fun New Year's Eve in Memphis.

But one thing may irk them when they get their tickets in the mail, and that is who is featured on this year's ticket: Arching Manning.

Manning, the famous Ole Miss quarterback notable father of Peyton and Eli Manning, played in the 1968 Liberty Bowl, leading the Rebels to a 34-17 victory over Virginia Tech.

I doubt his face on the ticket will keep any Bulldog fans from attending this year's game, but if there's one thing I've learned in my time as a sports fan, it's to never underestimate a rivalry.
