Community Projections: Mississippi State vs LSU

Stacy Revere

In an effort to get you, the reader, more involved, we've created a weekly post where we want to hear from you on what you expect in the upcoming game. In the comments, let us hear your: 1) Score predictions, 2) Bold Predictions, 3) Best Case/Worst Case, and so forth.

It's the biggest game of the year so far for the Mississippi State Bulldogs as they take on the LSU Tigers, a team the Bulldogs have not defeated since 1999. I'll kick off the predictions and hope you join in.

BOLD PREDICTION: LSU looks to have scored a game winning touchdown as Leonard Fournette strikes the Heisman pose while crossing the goal line. However, an official charges in, saying he lost possession as Preston Smith attempted to tackle him. The replay equipment fails to work, and the Bulldogs leave with a 28-26 victory while everyone wonders why Les Miles didn't just kick the 20-yard field goal.

Best Case Scenario: Dak Prescott throws for over 200 yards, and the Bulldogs grind out 125 yards on the ground to score 28 points. The Mississippi State front seven slows the LSU rushing game, and the Tigers can't connect on a big passing play, allowing Mississippi State to head home with a 28-24 win.

Worst Case Scenario: The Bulldogs get off to a slow start, and LSU takes a 10-0 lead. The Bulldogs later tie the game, but they cannot ever get their nose out in front, and the Tigers pick up a 31-21 victory.
