This was something that had completely slipped off of my radar, but when I saw the tweet, I immediately perked up. Mississippi State hosting the 2016 SEC Softball tournament makes for perfect time. The Bulldogs will get to show off their new softball complex, and the team has shown consistent improvement over the past few seasons. By the time the SEC tournament rolls around, this team could be in contention to snag the tournament title. Mississippi State had originally been tabbed to host the tournament in 2014, but the Bulldogs backed away from that date to take the tournament in 2016. At the time, Mississippi State would not have been able to have the upgraded and improved facilities ready for the tournament. At the end of the day, the timing proved to be perfect.
