3. Trap game for Auburn. The trip to Starkville has "danger" written all over it for Auburn, even with its impressive offense. It's Cam Newton's first SEC start. It's a short week. It's a road game in a difficult environment. It's an opponent whose coach, Dan Mullen, knows Newton's tendencies from their time together at Florida. Cowbells or no cowbells, Mississippi State squeaks out a wild game.

I don't think this is a trap game.

This is an important game for both teams.

MSU fans and players feel like this is their time to shine, and rightfully so. Mullen has you guys moving in the right direction.

I do feel like AU will win this one, but I am an Auburn fan so take that with a grain of salt.

I know you guys are going to give us a very tough game, and possibly our first loss.

I hope this game lives up to the hype…

I think the game does live up to the hype. I think you will see both teams scoring often, both in the high 20/low 30 point range by the 4th quarter, and I think it will end up being a close game. Maybe less than a touchdown deciding the victor. Definitely a better game than the 3-2 debacle of 2008. Both teams actually have offense this year.

Auburn has to step up on defense. They looked sloppy against Ark. State, although I know 2 of their key players were a bit rusty (Ethridge and the other guy).

State will need to control the ball. You will see a lot of Relf tonight, and a lot of running trying to keep Cam Newton off the field. I think Russell will be used mostly to give the offense a different look to keep the Auburn D on their toes.

Should be a great game regardless.
