Mississippi State Football 2013 Impact Players: No.11, Justin Cox

Originally scheduled to come to Starkville following his senior season at West Point High School, cornerback Justin Cox makes his long awaited debut for the Bulldogs in less than two weeks.

With the departure of Johnthan Banks and Darius Slay to the NFL, the Mississippi State Bulldogs will need players to setup at the cornerback position. That pressure has fallen on the shoulders of the incoming Justin Cox and Jamerson Love.

Cox has the all the physical tools to be a dominant force in the SEC. Not too many wide receivers will be able to muscle past him with his 6' 3", 195 pound frame. If he can handle single coverage, the Bulldogs will be able to be even more aggressive when sending the defense after the quarterback.

For those wondering how he did in junior college, he set the record at East Mississippi Community College for interceptions in a game when he picked off three passes in a single contest.

If Cox can adjust to all of the aspects of playing in the SEC, he should continue the strong play from the position from the past few seasons.
