It has been pathetic how many posts/forums I have read about not completing the new baseball stadium or firing John Cohen. Lets start with firing Cohen because that is just beyond ridiculous. As far as I know we have made the NCAA Tournament every year since 2011, 2012 SEC Tournament Champions, 2013 National Runners Up. Won the series against 2014 National Champion against Vanderbilt including a 17-9 butt wupping. This year has been an issue because of RPI. Well here is something that happened over the weekend was that our RIP went up over 30 spot. And WHy did that happen? Because we have entered a tough period in our schedule. All of our games were mere cupcakes before A&M and it was just MSU merely not winning most of them. Arizona is currently a top 25 team so its good to have 2 wins against them. Alabama and Auburn will probaly be NCAA teams with their RPI so those arent bad losses. Kentucky went down and beat LSU the week after we played them. South Carolina is garbage. Memphis and Southern Miss arent terrible. UAPB hurts though big time. But you will see soon enough our RPI will return to the 50s in not too long of a time. Get a Friday and Saturday win against Flordia(with the big crowds) and your in good shape for the RPI. Take the series from Arkansas. Take the series from LSU. Win one at Oxford and take the series in Knoxville and we are in good shape. Honestly all I want to do this season is win the series against LSU. So as you can see there are plenty of games and you are just overreacting when you are saying fire John COhen. You might be confused because of the Rick Ray situation but in no way shape in form is or should John Cohen be on the hot seat at all. John Cohen is a well established coach who ran a SEC Program before coming to Mississippi State. Rick Ray hadnt even run an OVC program. Personally Iid like Ray and iim glad he got a job more on the lines on what he needed in the first place as a first time job but he is NOT Croom so stop comparing them because that is whole nother situation. So whats j=hurting Cohen right now is the new ball. The pitchers arent responding well to it like Ross Mitchell thus creating a disaster. In my opinion the Rotation should be Laster Brown and Sexton move Tatum to Bullpen/Weekday until Postseason. And we should stick with our lineup in the South Carolina series. The results will speak for themselves.
Now on to this new stadium fiasco. Lets just be plain and honest. You Bulldog season ticket holders are pathetic and are making MSU look bad every game. How is MSU supposed to win if you never show up? You never have and quite frankly never will so this new stadium will solve this problem and get your empty seats right back to the bulldog faithful. You know why on TV we look bad? Because everyone is in the left field lounge but also you never show up and forcing the people who do to the bleachers. We need the new stadium as soon as possible. We used to be the gold standard of all of COllege Baseball in the 1980's and have now allowed teams like SOuth Carolina LSU, ALabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M to surpass us in facilities. Its time for a change. The stadium needs better access to walk around. Its not about the lounge anymore, its about having the best stadium in college baseball. BBQ can still be made. We can still see the smoke come on TV like we always have. We just need a change and a change right now mainly because of the pathetic season ticket holders at MSU. And this isnt a this year thing its a this decade/ last 2 decades issue. Just because your too cheap to pay season tickets doesnt mean you should abide by your lifetime season ticket bs crap. If you guys showed up I would not care about that but you dont so 30 years is long enough. THis is a new Athletic Department as this isnt the same one that decide playing LSU in Death Valley for 30 years in a row is a good idea. Stricklin is the best AD MSU has ever had. He is exactly what they need. Someone who grew up a MSU fan and cared about the university. Greg ditched us for Arizona. Tough love. He may have gotten rid of Croom and hired Mulled but he also fired Flick. Greg was not that great compared to Scott after all. He hired Cohen after all and since you all of a sudden want to fire him I would think you would not think so highly of him. Stricklin right now is creating projects like these and making all MSU sports that you do not keep up with better. As far as I can see Schafer and Studdeman rival any top coach in their profession and he has kept Mullen and Cohen who rival any whether you want to admit it or not. Recent hires of Howland and McFatrich show how committed MSU is to all sports not just one like Alabama.
As usual there are spelling and grammar errors but I am not a professional jounalists. I am simply a fan like you or anyone else. Share this with a friend who suddenly seems to be going crazy about MSU or the athletic department in general lately. I will close with this. Look at where MSU was when Sherril was hired and now look where they are when Howland is hired. Thank you and Hailstate
