Mississippi State volleyball coach David McFatrich announced that Jelena Vujcin, a junior, has transferred to Mississippi State.

Vujcin, a native of Becej, Serbia, comes to Mississippi Stat from Seattle University, where she picked up WAC All-Freshman Team honors in 2014 and WAC All-Second Team honors in 2015.

Vujcin, who averaged .50 aces per set, good for seventh nationally, produced eight in a match against UT Rio Grande Valley, which was the most in a single WAC match last year and tied the Seattle University program's single game record.  For the season, she struck 46 aces, good for 26th overall in NCAA play.

"We're very excited to add Jelena to our team," McFatrich said in a release. "She adds height and great experience to our front row. She has a great arm swing and I expect her to be in the mix for playing time beginning day one. She is also a quality student-athlete who has great desire and drive to succeed both on and off the court. She's a wonderful young lady who will blend in very well team chemistry wise."
