The SEC and the Big 12 recently announced an expansion of the SEC Big 12 challenge which Mississippi State is now a part of this year. The Bulldogs will face Iowa State on the road on Saturday December 3rd. Iowa State had a losing record last season and did not make postseason play.
With that news, we re going to bring new information regarding the Women's Basketball schedule. Mississippi State will be traveling to Maine to play Villanova on November 11th. The Bulldogs will play either Purdue or Maine on November 12th in a tip off tournament. Mississippi State is also making a great decision to play a game in Biloxi on November 16th against the Tulane Green Wave.
The Bulldogs will be hosting a team that made the Elite Eight in last seasons NCAA Tournament in the University of Texas. This game will be at Humphrey Coliseum on November 20th which is the day after the November 19th Arkansas Football Senior Day game.
Mississippi State will also be playing in Los Angeles California against SMU on December 16th. The Bulldogs will play either USC or Grambling on December 18th.
And finally Mississippi State will not be facing Connecticut in the regular season.
That is how the schedule looks so far. The rest of the Mississippi State nonconference schedule will be released within the next month. So far the Womens schedule appears to have a lot more games away from the Hump compared to recent years. This will help Mississippi State as they once again try to get a top 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament to host. The conference schedule for both Men's and Women's Basketball will be released next month as well on a SEC Now type show. Mississippi State Women's Basketball has a very bright future and expect another record breaking season from Vic Shaefer and the team. Mississippi State tied for 2nd place in the conference last season and is a top 3 contender for the SEC coming into this season.
