Well football fans, the long drought is over as this week we Get To sit down at the table and begin feeding. In this series I will take a look at what SEC team had the biggest wreck. Who missed a golden opportunity for an upset, for a statement win, who got totally blown away when it shouldn’t of happened or who just didn’t even show up to play?
Looking at the week to play:
Thursday - Will the #10 Tennessee Volunteers take Appalachian St. for granted as a certain Big 10 or 12 or whatever team did recently or will Tennessee flex their muscles and pound it home? I don’t think so, Volunteers 45 - Mountaineers 21
South Carolina @ Vanderbilt is intriguing! Whoever loses will be bailing water or running for the trees one game into the season (I like Vandy here). In an ugly game Vandy 27 - GameCocks 20
Saturday - I think State needs to play solid but vanilla on both sides of the ball, avoid injuries but put the Jaguars away in the first half. If we’re not serious...well I won’t EVEN speak those words. 31-14 State!
Missouri @ W. Virginia is a toss up to me with a lean to the Mountaineers. Missouri will be evolving this year. Pick ‘em game.
#4LSU @ Wisconsin - Will the Bayou Bengals get Fournette’s Heisman run started or will they drop out of the top ten? I think they win by 17+.
#14 UCLA @ aTm. If A&M goes bust here Sumlin is in trouble right out of the gate. A&M by 5 ...31-26
LaTech @ Arkansas. Be careful here Hogs. A swarm of Dogs can bring a Hog down and feed on his carcass unless he is ready for the fight. Arkansas 31-27
#16 Georgia @ #20 N. Carolina. You want SEC teams to win against outsiders and this brand of Bulldogs should slip out of Chapel Hill with a win but the Tar Heels have a really good coach and a lot coming back so look out. NC 34 UGGA 31 OUCH!
UMass @ #25 Florida. Florida better find a QB or times will be hard. FL 27 UMass 3 in a ho hummer.
USM @ Kentucky. The Bluegrass Boys didn’t have that much but they lost what they had. Get your search committee started. USM will be a good team. USM 41- 31.
#1 Alabama and #17 USC (California brand) at Dallas, TX. Alabama begins to search for team chemistry and leadership on offense but defense will knock the Trojans from their saddle convincingly. AL 38 - USC 17
#2 Clemson rolls into the plains of Alabama and empties Shug Jordan Stadium in the 3rd quarter. Auburn goes bust if they can’t compete with one of the Final Two at the end. Clemson 42 - Auburn 10 and the grumbling starts.
Monday Night “PRIME TIME”
#12 TSUN @ #4 Fla. State. The Seminoles have taken some preseason attrition to their line up. TSUN well we have all heard. This is TSUN’s chance to get back on the road with many dangerous curves ahead. Please don’t faint here but IF TSUN’s defense can play average then Black Bears win while the ship is still sailing. TSUN 34 Fla. State 28. Wow did I really predict TSUN to not go BUST this week? Check me for a fever guys!
Next Sunday night I will not predict games but rather I will look back to see WHO in MY opinion had THE BIGGEST BUST for week #1.
