The NCAA Meets With Mississippi State and Auburn Players Regarding Ole Miss Investigation

Ole Miss news isn’t our news, until Ole Miss decides to drag us into their mess.

Well, the NCAA investigation into Ole Miss is not something I’d normally write about because it generally has nothing to do with Mississippi State. But this time it does. According to Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports, the NCAA has met with folks from Mississippi State, Auburn, and potentially another SEC West school regarding the investigation into Ole Miss.

From Forde’s report:

NCAA Enforcement representatives have visited Auburn and Mississippi State, and perhaps at least one more SEC Western Division school, this summer to speak with players who were recruited by Ole Miss. The players were granted immunity from potential NCAA sanctions in exchange for truthful accounts of their recruitment, sources said.

It’s not clear exactly who the NCAA met with at Mississippi State, but given that there’s a lot of competition for in state talent between the Bulldogs and the Rebels, it’s possible that they’ve met with several players that were recruited by both schools but ended up at Mississippi State.

If anything else develops from this that pertains to Mississippi State, we’ll cover this more. But given that this is a Mississippi State blog, hopefully this is the last we’ll be writing about anything that is about Ole Miss until we have actual football games to discuss.
