Former Mississippi State linebacker Matthew Wells has found himself a new home in the NFL as he has officially signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons.

Wells started his NFL career by being drafted in the sixth round of the NFL draft by the New England Patriots. From there, he was traded to the Chicago Bears in a deal for offensive lineman Ryan Groy.
Shortly after he was traded to the Bears, Wells was released by Chicago. It didn’t take him long to find a new team, however, and he made his way to the then St. Louis Rams. Wells wouldn’t get to make the trip to LA, however, and he was released from the Rams a few weeks ago.
Although he’s been in the NFL for a short time, he’s made his fair share of traveling around the league. Hopefully his stint with Atlanta is a bit longer lasting.
